The cast of our school production, ‘Pirates of Penzance’ had a real treat last week as they went to watch a production of ‘The Mikado’ at the Hereford Courtyard theatre.
Mikado is a topsy-turvy musical satire of English society set in the fictional Japanese town of Titipu.
It is the story of some unlucky star-crossed lovers, an unfilled beheadings quota at the county jail, and one enormous conspiracy with hilarious consequences.
It was great to watch another Gilbert and Sullivan production after performing our own and NCWs, Mr Russell Painter played the part of Nanki-Poo, much to the delight of the students. The production itself was great, with the usual operatic Gilbert and Sullivan tunes.
The students enjoyed ice creams at the interval and the trip finished with students meeting the cast and having some wonderful photographs taken with our very own Nanki-Poo!.
