We are delighted that New College Worcester has been chosen as Charity of the Year in the Wyre Forest for local Thursfields Solicitors!

Shane Miller, Director of Thursfields, congratulated: “NCW is an impressive school that works hard to carefully create a tailored programme for students’ academic achievement, independent living skills and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Thursfields is determined to help make a difference in the community it serves, and we’re delighted to focus our Wyre Forest fundraising efforts on helping this great charity to raise more funds that will help the young blind and partially sighted.”

Kevin Hateley, Head of Fundraising at NCW, said: “We’re grateful to everyone at Thursfields for offering this valuable help which will assist the school to provide even better opportunities for students.

Our staff are dedicated to helping students develop the confidence and self-esteem that will enable them to prepare for life beyond NCW in the future, and all funds raised go towards this crucial role.”

Thursfields has now planned to get involved in various fundraising events at NCW during the next few months, including:

•A wills workshop in February resulted in staff and parents having an opportunity to book an on-site appointment to make their will on 18, 19, 27 or 28 March

•A Thursfields’ Thursty Thursday afternoon tea at Brockencote Hall on 2 May – tickets are available at https://www.thursfields.co.uk/event/thursty-thursday-afternoon-tea/

•A Walk, Rest and Rail event on Saturday 8 June, which includes a 7.5-mile riverside walk and ride home on the Severn Valley Railway
