Explore, Discover, Experiment! Holiday Club
Are you excited by fizz? Does a challenge intrigue you? Do you enjoy investigating?
If so, come along to our club, bring a friend, sibling or parent to explore with you.
Suitable for young people with a vision impairment in Key Stage 2 or above. The club will be held remotely on Google Meet – we will send you a code to access the club when you book. The club is being run by Mrs Ridley.
Week 1: Wednesday 22nd July
Volcanic Eruption!
You will need to have ready:
- Newspaper
- Damp sand or soil (enough to pile around the bottle)
- Small bottle (200ml or 330ml)
- Vinegar
- Tomato ketchup
- Bicarbonate of soda
- Tablespoon
Week 2: Wednesday 29th July
Do eggs float? Can you make an egg bounce? Can you lift an ice cube with a piece of thread?
You will need to have ready:
- Glass jam jar (large enough so the egg fits into it)
- 1 x uncooked egg
- 1 x hard boiled egg (with the shell on)
- Lots of salt
- Vinegar
- Tablespoon
- Teaspoon
- Ice cube
- Glass of water
- Piece of sewing thread
Week 3: Wednesday 5th August
Who can build the tallest tower? Does a balloon always pop when you stick a needle into it?
You will need to have ready:
- Straws and marshmallows or 6 sheets of newspaper
- a few inflated balloons
- needle
- sticky tape
Week 4: Wednesday 12th August
