Three Quick Wins To Make Life Simple

In the NCW Independent Living Skills Department, we don’t believe in making extra work for our students if there are innovative, good value and good quality products on the market which can make life simple. Saving time and money is important in all of our lives so that we can direct our resources where we really need to.

Here are some new products which tick that box for our learners who are visually impaired.

No Drain Tuna - We all know how difficult and messy it can be to open a tin of tuna and drain it. There are now products available with just a simple ring pull and no brine so require no draining. A super solution for quick mess free sandwiches, pasta bakes and jacket potato fillings.

Squash Concentrate – Some of our learners have problems with the Liquid Level Indicator giving us too much squash, or not being able to lift the bottle because it's heavy or even pouring from the bottle into a glass. This is a great solution, simply flip, squeeze and enjoy. The handheld container has an anti-spill top so that when you squeeze, a small measure of concentrated squash is dispensed. The top will also fit most water containers making ideal for drinks on the go.

Re-sealable Peas! Simply tear off the top and there is a zip lock fastening, making this a useful swap for your freezer. For our learners this means no scissors and no escaping vegetables when pulling them out of the freezer – obviously only if they have used the zip lock correctly! Yes peas!
