It was with great excitement and not a little trepidation that our Year 9s boarded the minibus and set off to Aberdyfi for the Year 9 Residential.

The fun started the moment of arrival with lunch on the beach and a runaround on the sand before heading off to the Residential Centre and getting settled in before the jog and dip activity - you guessed it - a jog to the water's edge followed by a dunk in the sea!

The first evening was spent making bread and toasting it over the camp fire.

Canoeing on the river was on the first activity of the day followed by a boat trip over the estuary and some fun and games on the sand dunes. Gorge walking was on the cards for the evening activity.

Wednesday was spent at Dolgoch exploring the waterfalls and mines and getting stuck into some team building exercises and some daring trapeze moves!

The last full day was an action packed day of abseiling and climbing and the week's final challenge was jetty jumping which everyone faced their fears and got involved with.

Well done to everyone, and especially to Tobias and Sophia who really pushed themselves and contributed to the group.
