Sixth Form Open Day at NCW – Discover Your Future Pathway
Our Sixth Form Open Day is the perfect opportunity to explore the unique benefits of studying at NCW.
During your visit, you’ll learn all about what it’s like to study and live at NCW, and how our students are supported in preparing for their next steps—whether that’s further or higher education, employment, or independent living.
At NCW, we have high expectations for every Sixth Form student. All our teachers are Qualified Teachers of the Vision Impaired (QTVIs), ensuring that every lesson is fully accessible. Students can choose from a wide range of subjects tailored to their goals and interests.
What to Expect on the Day
You will have the chance to:
- Tour the school and residential areas of the campus
- Meet the Principal and key members of staff
- Talk with current students about their experiences at NCW
You’ll also receive detailed information about the courses available, including:
- GCSE re-takes
- A Levels
- BTEC and Vocational Courses
- NCW’s Expanded Core Curriculum, covering:
- Braille
- Mobility
- Independent Living Skills
- Access Technology
The event will highlight how specialist teaching at NCW makes subjects such as Maths, Science, and Music accessible at A Level, and how students gain the skills needed for independent living as they progress to the next stage of their journey.
