Home Events - New College Worcester Marketing event The Official Opening of the Noel Duffy Pedestrian Crossing
A student standing at a pedestrian crossing presses the button on the signal box with one hand while holding a white cane in the other. The signal box displays a red standing figure indicating not to cross. Behind the person is a metal railing, green shrubbery, and a large yellow bush. A building with red brick and white window frames is visible to the left.

The Official Opening of the Noel Duffy Pedestrian Crossing

We are delighted to be officially opening our brand new pedestrian crossing, made possible thanks to the generosity of a number of organisations and partners. Having a fully functional pedestrian crossing on the NCW campus will mean that students who are blind or vision impaired can easily and safely practise their road crossing orientation.

A promotional poster for New College Worcester announces the grand opening of the “Noel Duffy Pedestrian Crossing.” At the top left is the NCW logo. Below it, large text reads “You are invited to the GRAND OPENING of the Noel Duffy Pedestrian Crossing,” with the date “Friday 24th April” beneath it. A stylized eye graphic appears in the background behind the title text. At the bottom, three circular photos show scenes of a pedestrian crossing: one of a person using a crossing button, one of people walking across the road, and one of a signal box showing a green walking symbol. The lower section displays sponsor logos including Ringway, Talent, AJP, AGD, Worcestershire County Council, NAL, and Nifty Access. The text “Proudly Sponsored By:” appears above the logos. The poster uses orange, black, and grey accents throughout.
Two people walk together across a pedestrian crossing while the traffic lights on both sides display red signals for vehicles. The crossing area is bordered by low shrubs, trees, and a metal railing on the right. In the background, there are several parked cars, a small bus, and a row of older-style buildings with chimneys and sloped roofs under a partly cloudy sky.
A person holding a white cane walks across a pedestrian crossing beside another person wearing an orange lanyard. In the foreground, a close-up of the pedestrian signal box shows a lit green walking figure indicating it is safe to cross. Behind them are leafless trees, shrubs, and a traffic light displaying red for vehicles. The scene is set in an outdoor urban area with paved walkways and landscaped greenery.Provide your feedback on BizChat
