We’re excited to announce the launch of EyeChat – Conversations from NCW, our brand-new podcast series, with new episodes released every Monday.
Hosted by NCW staff and students, EyeChat will explore all sorts of topics relevant to the vision impaired community. From VI sport, parenting and family life, accessibility, education and employment, to memories of NCW and conversations with inspiring guests, if it’s something that matters to blind and vision impaired people, we’ll probably be talking about it!
Each week, we’ll be sharing experiences, discussing important issues and celebrating achievements from across the VI community, bringing together a wide range of voices and perspectives.
For our very first episode, Yaz sits down with Eleanor, a talented actress, singer and audio describer who is passionate about making the arts more inclusive and accessible for everyone.
In this inspiring conversation, Eleanor shares her journey through the performing arts, what sparked her interest in audio description, and the opportunities and challenges she has encountered along the way. She talks about the importance of representation, why accessibility matters, and what motivates her to keep pursuing her ambitions while helping to break down barriers for others.
It’s a fascinating insight into the experiences of a determined young woman who is already making a real difference in the world of accessible arts.
Don’t forget to subscribe to EyeChat and join us every Monday for a new conversation from the NCW community and beyond.
