At NCW, we take immense pride in the enormous network of former students who once walked the halls of New College Worcester, Worcester College for the Blind and Chorleywood College. Our alumni are an invaluable part of the NCW community, offering a wealth of experience and acting as some of the college’s most passionate advocates.
They provide meaningful insight into how their time at NCW has shaped their lives, and we remain committed to maintaining and nurturing strong relationships with them.
This year, the Former Student Association (FSA) invited our Sixth Form students to apply for a special bursary opportunity – offering financial support to a student with a clear vision for a project that would benefit others within their community. Last Friday, during our Leavers’ Assembly, we were delighted to welcome Anthony Clements, who joined us to present the NCW FSA Bursary Award.
We are proud to share that this year’s recipient is Jake, whose compelling proposal to support his new transcription business truly impressed the panel. The bursary will help Jake take the first steps in launching his small enterprise, which aims to provide accessible transcription services for those who need them most.
Jake was overwhelmed and incredibly grateful for the opportunity – a clear example of how our NCW community continues to support and uplift one another across generations.
Thank you to the Former Student Association for their continued generosity and belief in the potential of our young people.
