Our New Sensory Room
We are delighted to share that New College Worcester now has a brand-new sensory room, created to support the wellbeing, regulation, and sensory needs of our students.
This calming and inclusive space has been made possible thanks to the generous support of The Powell Family Foundation, The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers and the many kind donations received in memory of former student Sophie Reilly.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to bringing this project to life.
The sensory room provides a safe and nurturing environment where students can relax, refocus, and manage sensory overload. Designed with a range of tactile, visual, and calming features, the space supports emotional wellbeing, reduces anxiety, and helps students to feel settled and ready to engage in learning.
For many of our students, access to a dedicated sensory space is transformative. It offers time to pause, regulate, and build confidence in a supportive setting tailored to individual needs.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Powell Family Foundation, The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers and everyone who donated in Sophie’s memory. Your generosity is already making a real difference to the lives of our students.
