NCW Attends the Prestigious May’s Court Dinner
Last week, NCW was honoured to attend the annual May’s Court Dinner, a prestigious event hosted by the Worshipful Company of Lightmongers. Each year, Head Students from affiliated schools are recognised for their exceptional contributions with the Exceptional Achievement Award.
This year, the spotlight was on Head Student Asal, who had the honour of attending the dinner alongside Principal Rachel Perks and Head of Habilitation Emma Moody. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work, leadership and dedication shown by our student leaders.
As a modern Livery company, the Lightmongers represent all sectors of the lighting and electrical industry — from manufacturers and designers to engineers and contractors. But their impact extends far beyond their professional network.
In addition to promoting excellence in lighting and fostering fellowship within the industry, the Company actively invests in the future through education and training initiatives. The Lightmongers Charitable Trust provides meaningful support to organisations working with individuals affected by sensory loss, helping to improve lives through education and innovation.
NCW is proud to be one of the educational settings supported by this generous and forward-thinking organisation, alongside Mary Hare School for deaf children. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support and look forward to future opportunities to celebrate and collaborate.
We were truly honoured to once again be invited to the May Court Dinner, a highlight of the NCW calendar. We had a brilliant time at the dinner, and it was wonderful for Asal, our Head Student, to experience something new outside of college. We are extremely lucky to have the ongoing support of The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers and greatly value the work they do as a Worshipful Company and the knowledge they so generously share. Their continued support—not only through their generous donations but also through the meaningful relationships they build with both the College and our students—is deeply appreciated.
I have never been in an environment where everyone is so friendly and willing to have a conversation with you. It was nice to go to an important event like that as it is a once in a life time event. I got to meet lots of people who have said that they have come to visit NCW many times and one of them is due a visit in around two weeks I think. They all said amazing things about NCW such as it is one of the best schools in the country.
