NCW Students Celebrate Exam Success!

This summer, staff, parents and carers are all extremely proud of the achievements of NCW students, whose results highlight both individual successes and the breadth of talent across all subjects. The results are the culmination of years of dedication from students, tireless support from families and the expertise of specialist teaching staff.

At GCSE level, all students are continuing their chosen educational journey, progressing on to appropriate Level 2 and Level 3 courses. Languages were a particular strength, with a 100% pass rate at grades 4–9, alongside notable results in Food Preparation and Nutrition, Music, Science and Geography. Students successfully completed all required practical work in Science, and, where appropriate, learned to read and use Science, Maths and Music Braille.

At A-level, all students who applied through UCAS secured places at their first choice universities. Courses include Therapeutic Psychology and Counselling, Japanese Studies and Musical Theatre. Five students will continue at NCW through the bespoke Year 13+ Transition Programme, designed to build skills, workplace readiness and prepare for further study. This year’s A-level pass rate stands at 86%, with 100% of students progressing into further or higher education.

Rachel Perks, Principal of NCW, said:

“We are so proud of our students and the results they have achieved this summer. Every single learner at NCW has overcome challenges associated with vision impairment and they have shown resilience, determination and ambition throughout their studies. These results are not only a reflection of academic achievement, but also of the courage and character of our young people. We are delighted to celebrate with them and excited to see where their journeys take them next.”

All NCW students have a significant vision impairment and every lesson is adapted to meet individual needs. All teaching staff are Qualified Teachers of Vision Impairment (QTVI) or in training and NCW works closely with exam boards to ensure that assessments are fully accessible.

NCW remains dedicated to ensuring that vision impairment is never a barrier to education or success.

Congratulations students!
