New College Worcester (NCW), a national residential school and college for young people who are blind or visually impaired, is thrilled to announce the generous support of £20,000 from The Eveson Trust to help fund a new NCW vehicle.

The new vehicle will play a vital role in enabling students to attend essential educational, sporting, appointments and enrichment activities off-campus – many of which are crucial for building independence, confidence, and real-world experience. For students with vision impairment, having safe and supported transport is key to accessing the same opportunities as their sighted peers.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Eveson Trust for this generous funding,” said Rachel Perks, Principal at NCW. “This new vehicle will make a real and immediate difference to our students’ lives – ensuring they can travel safely and confidently to a wide range of activities and appointments that support their education and wellbeing.”

NCW receives no government funding for specialist equipment or capital costs and relies on the support of charitable trusts and the wider community to meet these needs. The contribution from The Eveson Trust demonstrates a deep commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and supporting the potential of young people with vision impairment.
