It’s Official! We are a Leading Parent Partnership School!

NCW has proudly been awarded the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA), a prestigious national recognition celebrating outstanding engagement with parents and guardians in children’s education. This achievement underscores the school’s commitment to fostering strong, collaborative relationships between staff, families, and the wider community.

The LPPA is awarded to schools that demonstrate excellence in working with parents to support student learning, wellbeing, and development. To earn the accolade, schools must show evidence of inclusive practices, effective communication strategies, and meaningful opportunities for parental involvement in all aspects of school life.

The award, which is endorsed by the Department for Education, recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in fostering meaningful collaboration between staff, pupils, and families. Achieving LPPA status requires a rigorous process, including self-evaluation, evidence of effective strategies, and feedback from parents and carers.

“We are absolutely thrilled to receive the LPPA,” said Rachel Perks, Principal at NCW. “Our school community is at the heart of everything we do and this award acknowledges the hard work of our staff and the incredible support of our parents in helping every young person thrive here.”

Throughout the accreditation process, the group working on the project showcased initiatives aimed at strengthening home-school links. These included regular parent workshops, family learning sessions and a transparent communication system to keep parents informed about their children’s progress. Parents also played an active role in decision-making, providing feedback and ideas for developments.

One parent , shared their experience:

“We feel genuinely listened to by the staff. They value and take on board parental feedback and make a real effort to work collaboratively with families, finding positive solutions that meet us in the middle.”

The LPPA award not only recognises past achievements but also encourages schools to continue building strong partnerships with families over the coming months and years.
