New College Worcester is proud to celebrate the achievements of students Ellie and Len, who both delivered outstanding performances at the recent Blind and Visually Impaired (VI) Shooting Championships.
It was a brilliant weekend of competition, with both students showcasing their dedication, skill and continued progress in the sport.
Ellie had a fantastic competition, achieving an impressive personal best score of 586 out of 600. This outstanding performance earned her 2nd place in Class B, a remarkable accomplishment given the strength of the field.
Len also had an excellent event, achieving his own personal best score of 569 out of 600 and securing 3rd place in Class C. While he narrowly missed out on retaining the British Junior Championship title he won last year, his performance was still a significant achievement and a testament to his hard work and determination.
Both Ellie and Len improved on their results from last year’s championships, highlighting the commitment they have shown in training and the progress they continue to make.
The standard of competition this year was exceptionally high, particularly among the junior competitors from the Royal National College for the Blind, who achieved impressive scores of 595, 594 and 589. Against such strong competition, Ellie and Len’s results are something they should be incredibly proud of.
Parents and staff would also like to extend thanks to Paul for his support on the day, as well as to the college’s dedicated weekly volunteers—Chris, Derek and Bradley—whose time, encouragement and commitment play a vital role in creating opportunities like this for our students.
Congratulations to Ellie and Len on their fantastic achievements—we are incredibly proud and delighted to share their success with our school community.
