As the end of the academic year nears, the last week in school is usually spent off-timetable – doing lots of fun activities with the students such as trips out, visits, Sports Day and games.
On day one of Activities Week it was a fun morning experimenting. The group were split into teams and given access to all sorts of left over packaging and materials, tape and an egg! The objective was to develop a structure that would protect the egg when it was dropped from height! The groups quickly got stuck into protecting their eggs with bubble wrap and paper, and devising parachute type attachments that would slow the egg down as it fell.
There were some incredibly creative solutions! The models were first thrown off the bridge, and then out of the top floor of the building!
All the eggs, except one, remained intact!
In the afternoon the whole group took advantage of the air conditioning in the local cinema for a viewing of the Minions: The Rise of Gru.
