A Creative Writing Collaboration

As part of NCW’s aim to forge links within the local community, A Level English Language students have been collaborating with their peers from Worcester Sixth Form College on creative writing.

Catherine Swire, a locally based published poet, has been running a weekly workshop at Worcester Sixth Form, allowing students to explore short fiction and poetry in a creative space! Lydia, Lily, Kaeden, Mustafa and Florence have been visiting every Thursday lunchtime where they have, this term, been working on writing the opening to a fantasy novel.

This is a great opportunity for our students to be able to integrate with other likeminded young people, enabling them to have open discussions, work in groups and share ideas outside of NCW.

Mustafa said: “I used to think I was socially awkward but this has shown me that I’m not!”

We are looking forward to reading some of the group’s creations!
