Samih’s Concert

It was a very proud moment for senior student Samih, as he brought a whole concert together as part of his Singing Diploma.

The project, which is to demonstrate that he could organise and facilitate a musical event also combined the opportunity for him to rehearse the set exam pieces for himself.

He invited fellow staff and students to join him on stage in the Chapel after school in what transpired to be a wonderful musical treat.

In total eight other members of the NCW community performed a range of different styles of music, along with Mr Painter accompanying on piano.

The hardest part of the project for Samih was arranging the programme to ensure the concert flowed. He enjoyed most being able to give the opportunity to showcase their talents to the other performers and he says he most enjoyed the performance from Miss Potter, “Send In The Clowns” written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 musical “A Little Night Music”

Well done to performers Lydia, Daniel, Miss Potter, Rahel, Natalie A, Phoebe, Klara, Roman and Khadija and congratulations to Samih.

This is Samih’s final year at NCW and next year he hopes to study Musical Theatre at the University of Winchester.
