Readathon success for NCW students, staff and parents

NCW students, staff and parents have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Read for Good Readathon this term.

Read for Good, motivates children to read for fun because they know that loving reading changes lives. For children in hospital, books and stories are particularly important – they comfort, distract, reassure and entertain, while also supporting disrupted learning. Read for Good provides a regular supply of brand new books along with storyteller visits to brighten up the days of children in all of the UK’s main children’s hospitals.

Here at NCW, we were more than happy to take on the Readathon challenge for such a worthy cause. Staff, students and even families at home, all joined in and picked up a book to support Read For Good.

A very big thank you to everyone that took part and to those that supported their fundraising efforts. We are proud to say they raised an impressive £131 pounds for Read for Good. Well done!

Thank you to English Teacher Mr James, for organising the event and being so passionate about reading.
