Computing and ICT Curriculum Intent

At KS3, the curriculum aims to ensure that pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology at a level that enables them to participate in the wider curriculum, pursue further study and become active participants in a digital world.

At KS4. the curriculum provides the opportunity to study aspects of information technology and computer science at sufficient depth to allow them to progress to higher levels of study or to a professional career.

At KS5, the computer science curriculum builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills established at key stage 4 and encourages students to develop a broad range of the knowledge, understanding and skills of computing, as a basis for progression into further learning and/or employment.
